Want To know What Style And Colors To Use To Decorate, Look At Your Favorite Art Prints

by Willie Jones

The idea of decorating a new space can be somewhat alarming for some people. Some of us are up to the challenge but many are not. Where do you start? How do you get inspiration?

The secret may lie on your walls! Your favorite painting or art prints! If you were to hire a designer to come to your space, he or she may ask you what you have in your home (or office) that you really like and why. This is to get a feel for your style and color. For those of us that want to do it by ourselves, doing this is a good place to start.

Choosing the right colors are very important! The colors you choose are going to impact how you feel about being in a room so take careful note about the colors in your prints that attracted you in the first place. The darker colors are often used on one wall and the rest used as accents such as pillows, vases etc. It is important to have some continuity of color in a space even if it is just several small pieces.

A person's sense of style can change over the years. This can come about for many different reasons. It can come about from a favorite trip where the culture and style is different from our own. Buying new pieces from afar can inspire us to change our style simply because we love the colors and textures of something different.

When you are redesigning a space, being a little eclectic can really enhance a space. It doesn't mean you want to have everything mismatch; only one or two key pieces will do just nicely. Everything the same can be somewhat boring.

Color and Style is the key to good design. Try not to overwhelm with too much. Less is sometimes more.

Good luck!
